Medical Technology
As medical professionals, we are generally the last to adopt new technology. One of the main reason is that most of us are not willing to invest time to learn to use new technology. This is compounded by the fact that there are very few websites that actually explain the use of these emerging tools in a context that medical professionals want.
This section of website will attempt to introduce some of the most common internet and computer tools that can help medical professionals become more productive.
1. Google search including:
a) Google image search
b) Google Scholar
c) Google books
2. RSS and Podcasts
3. Web 2.0 Applications
a) Google docs and spreadsheets
b) Google Calendar
c) Gliffy (Online diagram creation)
d) Online photo sharing
e) Online Video sharing
f) Google Notebook (Online note taking)
g) Online discussion groups
h) Online bookmarks (del.ico.us)
You may have noticed my heavy bias towards Google products. There are a few reasons for this:-
1. Most of them are the best in their class
2. They will not disappear with your data (Some small companies may have slightly better products but they run the risk of closing shop)
3. They continue to evolve and get better
4. They are slowly being integrated with each other thereby opening a number of new possibilities to streamline workflow
5. They are free
